King David lived in a fine palace made of cedar wood. But the golden chest called the ark of God was still kept in a tent.
David said, “I want to build God a house!” But that night God gave the prophet Nathan a message for David: “I took you from caring for sheep and made you king. Now I will build you a house!”
God didn't mean a building. He meant a family. God promised that a King from David's family would rule forever. That forever King is Jesus!
Key Verse
And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me. Your throne shall be established forever.2 Samuel 7:16, ESV
