What We Believe

Lantern Trail was made by a dad who wanted his own kids to know the whole story of the Bible, from the first page to the last. We're Protestant Christians, and these are the beliefs every story is built on.

Our beliefs

• The Bible. The Bible is God's Word. It is true, trustworthy, and the final authority for what we believe and how we live (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
• God. There is one God, who exists forever as Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).
• Creation. God made everything, and He made people in His image to know Him and love Him (Genesis 1:27).
• Sin. Everyone has sinned and turned away from God, and sin breaks our relationship with Him (Romans 3:23).
• Jesus. Jesus is God the Son, fully God and fully man. He lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:3–4).
• Salvation. We are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus, not by being good enough (Ephesians 2:8–9).
• The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives in everyone who trusts Jesus, helping them grow to be more like Him (Galatians 5:22–23).
• The church. Believers belong to Jesus's family, the church, and gather to worship, learn and serve together (Hebrews 10:24–25).
• Jesus's return. Jesus will come again and make all things new (Revelation 21:5).

How we teach kids

• The whole story, in order. Kids see how every part of the Bible fits together and points to Jesus.
• Close to the text. Our stories are retold in kid-friendly words, and every day lists the real passage so families can read it together.
• Honest about hard parts. We don't skip the difficult stories. We tell them gently, at each age's level, and point to God's goodness.
• Home and church together. We leave questions where faithful churches differ, like how to baptize or the timing of the end times, to your family and your church.
