Samuel grew old. The people said, “We want a king like all the other countries have!”
Samuel was sad. God told him, “They aren't turning away from you. They're turning away from me. I am their King.”
Samuel warned the people that a king would take a lot from them. But they still said, “We want a king!” So God said, “Give them one.”
