Praying in the Garden

A Bible story for kids from Matthew 26:36–46. Day 245 of 365.

After supper, Jesus went to a garden called Gethsemane to pray. He was very sad and troubled.

He asked Peter, James, and John to stay awake and pray. But they kept falling asleep!

Jesus prayed, “Father, if there's another way, please take this away. But I will do what you want, not what I want.”

Key Verse

My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.Matthew 26:39, ESV
