The king noticed Nehemiah looked sad. “What's wrong?” Nehemiah said a quick prayer, then told the king about Jerusalem.
The king said, “Go and fix the walls!” He even gave Nehemiah wood and soldiers to protect him.
In Jerusalem, Nehemiah rode around the walls at night to check them. Then he told the people, “Let's build!” They said, “Let's start!”
