The ruler of the land said everyone had to go to their family's hometown to be counted. So Joseph and Mary traveled all the way to Bethlehem.
When they got there, every room was full. There was no room for them!
That night, baby Jesus was born. Mary wrapped Him in cozy cloths and laid Him in a manger, the box where animals eat their food.
