Trouble in Egypt

A Bible story for kids from Exodus 1. Day 29 of 365.

Jacob's family grew and grew in Egypt until there were lots and lots of them. They were called the Israelites.

A new king came who didn't remember Joseph. He was afraid of the Israelites, so he made them slaves and gave them very hard work.

He even ordered that baby boys be harmed. But two brave women named Shiphrah and Puah loved God more than they feared the king. They protected the babies.

Key Verse

But the midwives feared God and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but let the male children live.Exodus 1:17, ESV
