God's people got back to Jerusalem. First they built an altar and worshiped God.
Then they laid the foundation, the bottom part, of the new temple. Everyone shouted and sang, “God is good! His love lasts forever!”
Some old people cried because they remembered Solomon's beautiful temple. Some people shouted for joy. It was so loud, people far away could hear!
